EnolgasUSACovid-19“Danger, coronavirus outbreak. Proceed with caution, high risk of infection”.

We want to express our most serious solidarity for the Italians, our colleagues and their families.
The Covid-19 (COrona VIrus Disease 2019), in Italy is up to 8000 people, with 724 that healed and 463 that didn’t make it unfortunately. Total of 9172 people. In the rest of Europe, there are 5370 infected people. The business continues as usual, despite the travel restriction until the 3rd of April. It is not an “absolute ban,” and it does not stop everything. Trains and planes do not stop, and it will be possible to move from proven work needs or for emergencies and health reasons. Sports events, including soccer, are postponed to date to be defined. Museums, schools, restaurants, pubs, game rooms, betting rooms, bingo halls, discos or clubs are closed until the 3rd of April.

The Government and Ministries tell us that the DPCM will not determine the blocking of productive activities, work activities, nor the blocking of transport and movement of goods to and from.

All business activities fall within the “proven working needs” mentioned in the letter “a” of article 1 of the attached Prime Minister’s Decree.

Given the above, the BoD of Enolgas Group wishes to share some simple indications to safeguard everyone’s health and business continuity, in the belief that everyone, in this delicate moment, has a great responsibility towards each other.

–        In carrying out our activities, we are all called to pay the utmost attention and respect for the hygiene and health measures indicated in Annex 1 of the document, as mentioned earlier.

–        Employees who use the cafeteria service are required to access the cafeteria areas no more than 16 people at a time (a maximum of 2 people must occupy each table at the same time) and wait for their turn outside keeping the distance of 1 m from each other. Please note that shift workers should be given priority.

–        Enolgas intends to activate smart working where possible and will evaluate the possibility of using ordinary leave or holidays.

–        Finally, and more generally, the provisions of the letter “a” of article 1 of the Prime Ministerial Decree are underlined: “avoid any movement … except for movements motivated by proven work needs or situations of necessity or movements for health reasons”.

Business is as usual, and there are no plans at all to stop. Therefore I would like to share with you the limitations we must follow:

1)      The “Ten behaviors to follow” issued by the Ministry of Health are displayed in the reception and all the notice boards. We are all invited to read it and follow what is indicated.

2)      At the reception, in the refreshment areas (coffee, drinks, snacks dispensers), in each production department and the meeting rooms, we have prepared hand sanitizer dispensers.

3)      Rules for defending yourself

  1. wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or, if this is not possible, with a disinfectant
  2. sneezing or coughing in a tissue or with the elbow flexed, throwing the used tissues in a closed basket immediately after use and wash your hands, avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth with dirty hands
  3. avoid close contact with strangers whenever possible; keep the distance of about a meter (3 feet)
  4. The use of a mask for the prevention of healthy people is NOT recommended

4)      For those who experience flu symptoms or breathing problems, as indicated of the Lombardy Region, it is imperative not to go to the emergency room, but directly contact the local toll-free number 800 89 45 45 or the public utility number 1500, which will evaluate each situation and will act accordingly. In the case of manifestation of the above symptoms within the workplace, immediately inform your manager who will activate the intervention procedure described above, and isolate the person in the room dedicated to medical visits.

5)      Avoid access by external personnel; only in exceptional cases, seek authorization from the Management.

6)      Avoid external travel; only in exceptional cases, seek authorization from the Management.

7)      All workers are required to keep their workstation tidy and clean working. In particular, it is recommended to clear the desks every night to allow proper cleaning of the same by the staff in charge.
